    What is at stake?

    🔥
How can a startup become involved in the charitable sector and develop a philanthropy policy?

    Why is it important?

According to Korn Ferry (employee engagement study, 2018):

"73% of French employees say they are disappointed that their company does not offer them ways to get involved: specific leave to help an association (42%), skills-based volunteering (33%), etc."

Other benefits of getting involved in the charitable sector:

➡️ Strengthening the credibility of the startup's raison d’être and values: This is not just about words; concrete actions will demonstrate the organization's commitment to the causes it claims to care about.

➡️ Contributing to the common good and setting an example.

➡️ Benefiting from tax reductions (subject to conditions).

Three actions to take right now

1️⃣ Understand the different forms philanthropy can take (establish an association, a foundation, philanthropy, donations, etc.) and formalize the philanthropy policy in a document.

2️⃣ Implement a volunteering or philanthropy program

Offer employees opportunities for skills-based volunteering or solidarity leave to support associations or NGOs.

3️⃣ Establish a financial reward system

For example: commit to donating 1% for the planet or through a giving pledge, donate the apprenticeship tax to an association, offering rounding up of transactions or salaries for donations, etc.
